Workshop Q&A

You've Got Questions? We've Got Answers

Q) Why is the class size so limited?
A) So we can devote more time to each student and some areas of the track have limited access.

Q) Do I need to be a Leica owner?
A) No, we encourage students to use the camera they are most comfortable with.

Q) Why is this workshop more expensive than your other class?
A) This workshop requires a lot more preparation time, travel and promises to give each student one-on-one time, which means there are fewer students to share the cost.

Q) So the masterclass takes up four days?
A) Yes. Four days and about 8-10 hours/day but you can also work at your own pace. That's the beauty of having such a small group, if you want to work a little less that's fine want to work a little more that's great, we'll support you either way

Q) Do I need to attended all four days?
A) No.

Q) Are you feeding us?
A) No your on your own but we do plan on arranging a few group meals that surely won't disappoint.

Q) What do I need to bring?
A) A digital camera, laptop, editing software and a few lenses. Also a must and very important: bring empty memory cards and extras if you think you'll shoot a lot.

Q) What about a laptop and software?
A) You will need a laptop for your one-on-one editing time. Photo Mechanic editing software and Photoshop would be a plus. Camera Bits, the company that makes Photo Mechanic offers a 30 day free trial period that can be downloaded via the CameraBits website. www.camerabits.com

Q) I don’t own a laptop.
A) Let us know and we’ll work something out.

Q) I bought a ticket to your workshop, but now I can't go.
A) We understand we all have busy lives, but a lot of time, effort and set-up costs go into my workshops. There are no refunds for cancellations within two weeks of the event, and 50 per cent for cancellations within 30 days.  However, if we cancel or change the date, a full refund will be offered.

Q) Terry G. asks: I own a Leica Q with a fixed 28mm lens that I want to use. Do I need a longer lens and DSLR body?
A) No. we encourage students to use whatever their must comfortable with.

Q) Will this limit what I can do and shoot?
A) No. Never let your camera limit what you can do. we will encourage students to shoot a visual story with the gear they have.

Q) Will there be cameras and lenses at the race track that I can use?
A) There will have a limited supply for students to use.
